On October 12th, 2019 at approximately 10:20 p.m. Gibson County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Fischer was patrolling State Road 57 near County Road 550 S when he observed a 2018 Dodge Ram travel left of center. Sgt. Fischer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 24-year-old Lane A. Edwards, of Oakland City. While speaking to Mr. Edward, Sgt. Fischer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and or person. Sgt. Fischer conducted a roadside investigation and found probable cause to believe that Mr. Edwards had operated a vehicle while intoxicated. Mr. Edwards was transported to the Gibson County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment and was issued a citation for traveling left of center. He has since posted a $650 bond.
