Culvert Replacement Scheduled for SR 66 in Posey County

POSEY COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for State Road 66 in west of Evansville near the Blairsville community for a culvert replacement.

Beginning on or around Thursday, Sept. 27, contractors will begin excavating a large box culvert about 400 feet west of the S.R. 66 and St. Phillips Road intersection. This process will require excavation and replacement of the existing drainage structure.

The operation will be performed in phases in order to keep traffic moving. The first restriction will see the eastbound lane closed and the west bound lane open, with traffic being controlled by temporary signal. The lane closures will alternate during the project once work in the eastbound lane is complete and each lane open lane will have a width of 10 feet. Restrictions will be in place around the clock. Work is expected to last until mid-late November depending upon weather conditions.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
