WCSO Arrests 2 On Drug Charges

On 12/26/17 at 2141 hrs. the Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop at Market and Jacques St. in Mt. Carmel for a traffic violation.  The deputy requested assistance from MCPD Officer Daniel Hopper and K9 Ace to do a free air narcotics sniff of the exterior of the vehicle.  After a positive alert from K9 Ace the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. Following the search 25 year old Chelse A. Wilkinson of Mt. Carmel was taken into custody for Possession of Methamphetamine , possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle 22 year old Justin K. Prater of Mt. Carmel was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Wabash County Jail, Wilkinson posted a $2,000 cash bond and Prater was later released.
