The boys and girls JH XC season kicked off this weekend in Fairfield.
The Varsity and JV girls team had a great start to their season! The Varsity team won their 1st meet in school history and the JV team came in 2nd place.
In the Varsity race (2 mile course) the Jr. Lady Aces team was led by 8th Grader Ava Alka who placed 3rd out of 35 with a time of 13:34. The Jr. Lady Aces also had two other top 10 finishes. 8th grader Norah Meeks finished in 7th place with a time of 14:24 and 8th grader Arianna Glick finished in 8th place with a time of 14:31.
In the JV Girls race (1 mile course) the Jr. Lady Aces placed 2nd as a team. Leading the way for the JV team was 6th grader Chloe Alka who placed 3rd out of 44 with a time of 7:01. 6th grader Josie Lashbrook would also finish in the top 10 at 10th place with a time of 7:27.
The Boys team had some strong individual performances this weekend as well. In the Varsity race (2 miles) Eli Wilcox finished 6th place out of 47 runners with a time of 12:12.
In the JV race (1 mile) 5th grader Stryker Pearson led the way for the Jr Aces placing 4th out of 47 with a time of 6:39.
The next meet for the Jr. Aces is at Fairfield Sept. 10th.
