Lady Aces Battle, But Fall At Edwards County

The Lady Aces traveled to Edwards County Thursday night.  MTC came out aggressive and were right with EC for the first 10 points, but momentum went the Lions’ way and the score changed fast.  Aces lost the first set 14-25. The second set was back a fourth with the Aces taking the lead at 16-15. It was close till the Lions pulled away the last few points winning 21-25. The coaches were feeling better with some strides made from the first match against Carmi. 

Stats for the night were Mattie Armstrong 7 assists, 3 kills, 1 dig,  Jayla Johnson 5 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist, Maycee Randall, 3 kills, 1 block kill, 1 dig, Tenley Davis 10 digs, Lyla Keepes 1 ace, 3 kills, 2 assists, 4 digs, Kyleigh Smith 1 kill, 1 block. Tensley Dunlap  5 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs. Avery Coston 1 kill, 1 assist, Gabby Schneider 1 ace, 1 assist, 2 digs.

The JV team played right with Edwards both sets leading most of the second, but found them self stuck at 21 losing both sets 21-25.

The Freshman team lost in 2 with set scores of 12-25, 17-25. Saturday the Varsity team will head to Fairfield for all day tournament play. They will start out the day at 9:30 against a very experienced Norris City team.
