Mildred Voigt, 88

Mildred Voigt, 88, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the home of her son James in Troy, MO after a brief illness. She was born on January 9, 1938, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Burrell and Emma (Sharp) Hall. Mildred married James L. Voigt on June 29, 1963, in the Free Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. They lived in several states while Jim worked in the electronics field, finally settling down in O’Fallon, Missouri.

While living in Huntsville, Alabama, Mildred and James adopted two children, Suzanne in August 1969 and James in March 1971. They moved to Hendersonville, TN in 1973 and then to Burnsville, MN in 1980. While in Burnsville, Mildred worked for Camera Art processing school pictures. In 1984 Jim was transferred to St. Louis and they settled in St. Peters, MO. Mildred began working for First Foto where she received orders for baby pictures from new parents. She worked for First Foto for thirteen years, until retiring in 2003. She stayed home for a short time then took a painting class where she painted several beautiful scenes. After Jim’s retirement, they decided to sell their home and took a cruise tour to Alaska in 2015. In 2010, they had taken an Amtrak to the Pacific Northwest, and they also took Amtrak to the Grand Canyon in 2019. Mildred enjoyed having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around and treasured time spent with her family.

Mildred will be remembered by her husband of sixty two years, Jim; daughter, Suzanne (Loren) Denard; son, James (Trish) Voigt; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tyler) Rowden, Daniel Branch, Amber Lofland, Kyrsten Baskerville, Kyler Meir, Nathan Meir, Chelsa (Ricky) Simmons, Zachery Hughes and Jaxzin Denard; great grandchildren, Ely Rowden, Bastien Rowden, Cassius Rowden, Delany Rowden, Landon Simmons, Ahna Simmons and Matson Simmons; sisters, Patty Hall, and Clara (Donald) Dearing; many loved nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charley, Elvis and Bob; her sister, Jean Youngman.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
