Dennis Allen Lustfeldt, 73, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2023, at his residence surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 28, 1953, in Caribou, Maine, the son of Bob and Dorothy (Mathewson) Lustfeldt. Dennis married Lynette Johnson on May 15, 1990, and together enjoyed thirty-six years of marriage.
Dennis retired from Duke Energy after thirty-five years of dedicated service as an electrician. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 1393. Dennis enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved fishing. He was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed following them throughout the years. Dennis will be remembered for his hard work, love of the outdoors, and the time he shared with family and friends.
Dennis will be remembered by his wife, Lynette Lustfeldt; sons, Austin (Amanda) Lustfeldt and Aaron Lustfeldt; stepdaughter, Stacy Hedge; stepson, Mike (Denia) Hedge; grandchildren, Ethan (Gracie) Lustfeldt, Emily (Collen) Barrett, Marvin (McKenna) Hedge, Bradley Hedge, and Natalee Hedge; one great grandson, Jackie Barrett; sister, Carol Lustfeldt; special cousin, Cheryl Miller.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Jillian Hedge.
In keeping with Dennis’ wishes, no formal services will be had. A burial will take place at Lick Prairie Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’ memory to a church of your choice or to the Ronald McDonald House in Evansville, Indiana.
