Jean (Adams) Wood, 55, of Mount Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Wabash General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 24, 1971, in Mount Carmel, the daughter of Bob and Lilian “Maxine” (Hufford) Adams.
Jean loved her family deeply, and her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She especially enjoyed family gatherings at the river, where fish fries brought everyone together and her famous pico de gallo was always a favorite. In her free time, Jean found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors, often spending hours gardening and caring for the plants she loved. She was especially proud to be a triplet and treasured the unique and lifelong bond she shared with all her siblings. Jean dedicated many years to working in home health and truly loved caring for others. She had a true gift for helping others and took great pride in providing comfort and support to those in need. Jean will be deeply missed by her family and by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jean will be remembered by her son, Logan (Brittney Powell) Wood; daughters, Tabitha (Matthew) Lacore, and Rachael (Bo) Smith; loving companion, Eloy Posada; grandchildren, Connor Smith, Chase Smith, Hunter Smith, Maddie Lynn Lacore, Teddy Lacore, Tripp Smith, Ava Posada, Chloe Posada, Joey Posada, Aaliyah Posada; brothers, Daniel Adams, Randy Adams, Billy (Kathy) Adams, and Mikey Adams; sisters, Cindy (Earl) Weekley, Helen (Dale) Gillihan, Jane (Tony) Delgado, Joan (Bob Bradock) Tarlton, Hattie (Kenny) Speers; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa Posada; brothers, Timmy Adams, and Bobby Adams; sisters, Sharon Farley, Susan Boyd, Angela Adams, and Nathelea Garrett.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
