Jo Ann Grounds, 95, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Wabash General Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1931, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Dale F. and Dorothy A. (Gher) Brinkley. On October 13, 1951, she married Bobby G. Grounds and together they celebrated forty-one years of marriage centered around their family before his passing on December 17, 1992.
Jo Ann dedicated her life as a homemaker, lovingly making a home for her family. She was a 1949 graduate of Allendale High School and a member of the First Christian Church of Allendale. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by her family and friends.
Jo Ann will be remembered by her two sons, Timothy Grounds and wife, Tama, and Gail Grounds and wife, Cindy; one daughter, Gloria Walker; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby G. Grounds; son-in-law, Randy Walker.
A Private Graveside Service was held at Allendale Cemetery where Jo Ann was laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
