Nanette S. Hodgson, 55, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her residence. She was born on June 1, 1970, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Brent and Rosetta (Tyree) Hodgson. Nanette was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School Class of 1988. She continued her education at Wabash Valley College.
Nanette will be remembered for her loving heart and kind spirit. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she often held down two jobs at a time. She found great purpose in caring for others, spending many years as a home-health caregiver and later working at Tyler’s Place, where she truly loved and cherished her residents. Nanette also worked as a security guard at the power plant and, for nearly five years, served as a transportation specialist with Rides Mass Transit District. In her free time, Nanette enjoyed crafting and making thoughtful gifts for others. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Dixon. Above all else, Nanette loved her family dearly and was a devoted and wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was a proud member of the VFW. Nanette will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nanette will be remembered by siblings, Ed Hodgson and wife, Sheila, Frank Hodgson and wife, Vickie, Connie Wilkinson and husband, Greg, and Darlene Critchfield and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Beverly Hodgson; many loved nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.
Nanette was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donnie Hodgson.
In keeping with Nanette’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
