Sharon Kay Molstad, 87

Sharon Kay Molstad, 87, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Wabash General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 9, 1938, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph and Geneva (Schrodt) Bell. She married Donald Eugene Molstad Sr. on March 23, 1957, and together they enjoyed forty-five years of marriage, until his passing on May 27, 2002.

Sharon dedicated her life to being the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be. She was an avid reader who always enjoyed a good book. Her whole life, she enjoyed hopping in the car and taking a ride. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, and playing card games. She often kept her mind and hands busy working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Sharon’s family was her pride and joy. She was a great shoulder for her children to lean on and turn to for support. Sharon never hesitated to be there for her family and helped them through many tough times. Her love and presence will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sharon leaves behind two sons, Donald Molstad Jr. and wife, Karen, Jeffery Molstad and wife, Donna; three daughters, Tammie Riggs and husband, Edward, Lori Groah, Lisa Miller and husband, Gregg; grandchildren, Adam Groah, Matthew (Megan) Groah, Paul Groah, Steven (Stephanie) Groah, Jessica (Todd) Marlo, Donald Molstad III, Michael (Chloe) Molstad, Joseph (Paula) Molstad, Jacob (Megan) Molstad, Matthew Miller, Ellen Miller, Sara Miller, Jodi Miller; fifteen great grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gene Bell, and Gerald Bell; son-in-law, Gary Groah.

A Private Family Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery where Sharon will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
