Dennis Alan Daniel, 78

Dennis Alan Daniel, 78, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 1, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Evalyn (Veatch) Daniel. Dennis married Diana Doty on August 1, 1970 and together they enjoyed fifty-four years of marriage centered on their family.

Dennis will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with those he loved most. Dennis along with his wife proudly owned and operated Daniel Christmas Tree Farm, finding joy in nurturing and growing beautiful trees that brought holiday cheer to many families in our community. Dennis was an avid MCHS sports fan and some of his fondest memories were cheering on his boys in football. In his younger years, Dennis had a passion for slow-pitch softball, fishing on the river; especially catfishing at night. Among Dennis’s hobbies, he enjoyed working outdoors in his garden, spending time on the golf course with family and friends. He also loved attending auctions and discovering unique finds. Dennis was a dedicated machinist where he worked at Pacific Press & Sheer for over thirty-five years. He always looked forward to his trips to South Padre Island and Monterey, California with his wife. Dennis will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Dennis will be remembered by his wife, Diana Daniel; two sons, Dock Daniel and wife, Kelsey and Drew Daniel and wife, Melinda; five grandchildren, Fagan, McHarg, Teagan, Emerson and Brynn; siblings, John (Joyce) Daniel; Kathy (Tony) Rice and Gayla (Ron) Case; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Gill and Dock Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’s memory to Wabash Rally Against Cancer. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
