Kevin Patrick Dunkel, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his residence. He was born on November 2, 1955, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the son of Harry J. and Peggy (TenBarge) Dunkel.
Kevin was a friendly guy who always had a smile on his face. If you knew Kevin, he considered you a friend. A passionate sports fan, he loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Raiders, and he took great joy in collecting sports memorabilia. He worked at Champion Laboratories for almost twenty years and made many friendships. Kevin was also a devoted and loving caregiver to his mother, Peggy, when she fell ill. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Kevin will be remembered by his four brothers, David Dunkel and wife, Karen, Pat Dunkel and wife, Vicki, Richard Dunkel and Terry “Ace” Dunkel; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Laura Jo Dunkel; nephew, Adam Dunkel.
