Alonzo Scott “Bones” Dardeen, 62

Alonzo Scott “Bones” Dardeen, 62, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 10, 1962 in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the son of James “Jim” Dardeen and Frances Earlene (Lambert) Harms. Alonzo was lovingly raised by Jim and Betty Dardeen.

Bones had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, especially when it came to fishing, a pastime he truly cherished. He was an avid collector, with a wide range of interests, and had a particular talent for restoring bicycles to their former glory. A devoted NASCAR fan, Bones followed the races with excitement. Above all, his greatest love was his family, who meant the world to him. Bones will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Bones will be remembered by his two daughters, Bethany (Melissa) Dardeen and Angie Morris; many loved grandchildren; sisters, Deborah (Thomas) Griesemer, Jona Clardy, Carlena (Dewayne) Brewer; brothers, Jeffery Dardeen, and Timmy (Cheri) Dardeen; several nieces and nephews; step-brothers and step sisters.

Bones was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Jimmy Dardeen; half-brother, Allen Harms.

In keeping with Bones’ wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
