Evelyn J. Richardson, 94, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away December 25, 2024, at The Waters of Princeton Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. A burial will be held in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born to the late James and Mary (Kelsey) Seibert on February 5, 1930, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She attended and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. Evelyn married Wayne Richardson on December 31, 1948, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1977. To this beautiful union, two children were born: Ed (Liz) Richardson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Susan (Lanny) Peach, Keensburg, Illinois.
Surviving Evelyn is her daughter, Susan of Keensburg; daughter-in-law, Liz Richardson of Mt. Carmel; brother, Larry Seibert of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren John (Beth) Peach of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Michael (Meghan) Peach of Sadorus, Illinois, Joshua (Erin) Peach of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Natalie (Jarrod) Orr of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and Jenna (Seth) Swanson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, great-grandchildren, Malerie (Caleb) Bunnage, Conner Peach, Ashlyn Peach, Ryan Peach, Elin Swanson, Eddie Orr, and Eli Orr.
Preceding Evelyn in death are her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Ed; sister, Sharon Coon, and brother, Robert Seibert.
Evelyn worked as a postmaster in Keensburg, Illinois for many years and loved serving the people. She loved being around her family and friends and also enjoyed traveling over the years.
