Bonnie Jane Benton, 98, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Jane was born February 24, 1926 in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of Everett and Fern (Andrews) Jackman. She married Robert Dale Benton on November 8, 1952, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2006.
Jane had a strong Christian faith and was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church and was active in the Elm Street Christian Church. She loved to bake, decorate cakes, and spend time with the grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed singing and yodeling and had a song for every occasion.

Jane is survived by her daughters Alice Mullinax and her husband, Greg of Parkersburg, Beth Kinkade and her husband, Albert of Olney and Ellen Collins and her husband, Randall of Springfield; one son, John Benton and his wife, Natasha of Olney; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Benton, daughter, Sara Benton, daughter-in-law, Diana Benton, parents, siblings, Charles, Sarah, Phoebe, Edna, and Lora Jackman, and Rose Riggs.
A visitation will be held for family and friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.
The funeral service for Jane will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Dec 23rd, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney. Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials can be made to Oblong Children’s Christian Home or Oil Belt Christian Service Camp.
