Loretta L. Hall, 76, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be held in the chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Brad Hadra officiating with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

Loretta was born to the late Charles Lester Windle and Louise Marie Sutton on September 18, 1948, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She married John L. Hall on July 1, 1965, in Mt. Carmel. To this beautiful union, four children were born: Kim (James) Knoll, Leah (Pat) Merriel, Patricia Perry, and Eric (Mandi) Hall, all of Mt. Carmel. Also surviving are sisters, Carolyn Reno and Rona (Junior) Adams, both of Mt. Carmel, and grandchildren, Kimberly Sullens, Ryan (Brittany) Merriel, Lori Merriel, Zac (Jarica) Toutloff, Alex Orr, Caitlyn Orr, Kayleigh Hall, and Johnathan Hall.
Loretta is preceded in death by her father; Charles Lester Windle; mother, Louise Marie Litherland; husband; John L. Hall; and siblings; Ruth Ann, Darvin, Lynn, Rick, and Darrell. Also preceding her in death are her grandsons, Billy Gunzel, Jr., Jordan Hall, and a special friend, Eric DeLong, Sr.
She was a caretaker and helped clean for the elderly, as well as having worked at Thordarson Meissner, General Baptist Nursing Home, and District #348 schools.
Loretta loved her animals and always helped any strays that would show up at her home. She loved being with her family and enjoyed being with her sister.
