Michael Paul Jones, 42, of Carmi, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on September 20, 1980, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Paul Jones and Sherry Hinderliter. He married Michelle Whitten, and she survives.
Mike was employed at General Continental Tire as a Tire Builder and was very proud of his work. He has received several commendations and awards for his talent and work ethic. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed being outdoors, spending time fishing and hiking. He loved to cook for his family and friends. Mike was known to cook up a big batch of wings and ribs. No small meals were created by him. Mike truly loved spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Michelle; one son, Cayden Jones; daughters, Victoria Jones, Isabella Whitten; father, Paul Jones; mother, Sherry Hinderliter; brother, Paul Scott Jones; sisters, Theresa (James) McCulley, April Madden; many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral home. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
