Thomas Jordan Jr, 81

Thomas Jordan Jr, 81, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on January 19, 1942, in Glasgow Scotland, the son of Thomas Jordan Sr., and Agnes Orr (McElwee) Jordan.  He married Diane Wells on August 1,1962, and they enjoyed fifty years of marriage until her death on January 28, 2013.

Tom proudly served his country first in the United States Air Force, and then the United States Army for twenty years, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, three Bronze Service Stars, two Overseas Service Bars, among several other awards.  After leaving the military, he made his career in hospital maintenance.  Tom enjoyed tinkering in his garage and was known to be able to fix anything.  In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and fishing.  Tom was very proud of his Scottish heritage.  He was a member of Parkview Christian Church.  Tom was a kind, caring man who loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Tom leaves behind his children, Thomas Jordan III of Evansville, IN, Trish Kemper and husband, Troy, of Mount Carmel, Sherri Oligher of Newburgh, Indiana; grandchildren, Ian Kemper (Kaitlyn Wernsing), Zane Kemper (Cora), Kristina Hodgson (Duke), Ryan Oligher (Jessie), Shawn Jordan, Alec Jordan, Ashley Fyffe (Parker), Eli Jordan; great grandchildren, Ashtyn Rodgers (Isaac), Lane Hodgson, Luke Hodgson, Adalynn Hodgson, Jude Kemper; one great-great granddaughter, Elayna Rodgers; Brother, Nick Jordan (Cindy); sisters, Mary Jordan, Pat Kallas (Lou), Margaret Godown (Jim); several nieces, nephews and cousins.    

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, David Oligher

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Parkview Christian Church. 

Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Parkview Christian Church with Pastor Mark Richison officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors, where Tom will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
