Bonita “Kay” Prosise, 80, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on April 23, 1942, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of William and June (Van Matre) Soden, and raised by her stepfather, Gene Dyehouse. She married Jim Prosise and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Kay devoted her life to being a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and crocheting. In their younger years, she and Jim enjoyed camping at Kentucky Lake. Kay especially loved her family and being with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Kay leaves behind five sons; Mark (Trenia) Wagner, Billy Wagner, Kevin (Kelly) Wagner, Terry (Ruth) Prosise, and Tim (Tonya) Prosise; two daughters, Sherry Buckman, and Sheila Welch; many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Lowe.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Scott Wagner, and Shaun Prosise; daughters, Kelly Harrelson, and Kristi Lofton; brothers, Mike Dyehouse, Colin, Joe, and Gary Soden; one sister, Judy Esparza.
In keeping with Kay’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal services will be held.
