Terence Barber, 60

Terence Barber, 60, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 2, 1963, in Mount Carmel, the son of Roy and Mary (Rexing) Barber. He married Billie (Dunlap) Wood on September 17, 2015, after a twenty-year relationship.

Terry worked for 42 years at Champion Laboratories where he made many friendships. He was a big Star Trek fan and a collector of Star Trek memorabilia. Terry loved cooking the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner and a ham for the Christmas holidays. He enjoyed going camping and was a train enthusiast, especially the older ones. Terry enjoyed flying model helicopters and drones. He wasn’t a big sports fan, but he would sit with Billie to watch Cardinal baseball and enjoyed the game, especially when they were winning. Terry watched all types of movies and was a 70’s and 80’s rock and country music fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Terry leaves behind the love of his life of twenty-eight years, Billie Barber; children, Matthew Barber, Heather Tewell and husband Cliff, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Barber; stepchildren, Lloyd Wood Jr., Leslie Archer, and husband John; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren; sisters, Teresa (Jay) Morgan of Jasper, IN, Trudy (Terry) Barber of Washington, IN, Tonia (Mike) Bobbitt of Mt. Carmel; several nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Thecla Allen, Trina Deisher; one brother, Tracy Barber.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Highland Memorial Cemetery, with Tim Thacker officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be at the graveside, or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
