Michelle Dawn Wilson Potts, 40, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Home. She was born on October 23, 1981, in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Michael H. and Christine M. (Richardson) Wilson. She married Phillip Potts on December 21, 2005, and together they have enjoyed sixteen years of marriage centered around raising their family. Michelle’s main goal in life was to be a mom and she felt her children were her greatest accomplishment.
Michelle obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Oakland City University and an Associate’s Degree in Ag Business from Wabash Valley College. During her high school years, Michelle obtained the Illinois State Degree in FFA and served as President of the Mt. Carmel FFA Chapter. She was an eleven-year Member of Wabash County 4-H, having raised her first rabbit at the age of two. Michelle was a past Wabash County 4-H Fair Princess and went on to become a leader of the 4-H club, Allendale Twisters. She also served as a Cub Scout leader and volunteered at the Lunch Wagon. Michelle was accomplished in the art of crocheting, canning, baking, and gardening. Michelle had a huge heart and lived by the motto, “Do something nice for someone every day”. Michelle touched many lives in her lifetime, and she will be sincerely missed.
Michelle leaves behind her loving husband, Phillip; one daughter, Courtney Potts; three sons, Trenton, Levi, and Stetson Potts; parents, Mike and Christine Wilson; two sisters, Rachel (Jeremy) Stoneberger, Ashley (Kevin) Carlin; aunts and uncles, Darrel and Becky Richardson, Mona Smith, Cheryl (Bear) and Larry Henson, Janet and John Haase; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elvis (Punch) and Carolyn Richardson.
A Celebration of Michelle Dawn Wilson Potts life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Anderson Building on the 4-H Fairgrounds, 15039 Four-H Center Lane in Mount Carmel. All are welcome to attend.
Memorial contributions may be made in Michelle’s memory to The Lunch Wagon.
