Jack Lee “Jackie” Rhinehart, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born on February 25,1952 in Princeton, Indiana, the son of Elmer Jack and Inez Louise (Greene) Rhinehart.
Jack graduated Mount Carmel High School Class of 1970. Following graduation, Jack went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in 1975 from SIU then he interned with Common Cause. He earned an Associate’s Degree in 1977 from Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois with a degree in Petro Chemical. In the late 1970’s Jack worked as a Roughneck with Schlensker Drilling. In 1984, Jack stared working with Northwest Airlines in Chicago, Illinois. He continued to work for the airlines until his retirement in 2011 with Delta Airlines where he worked with the ramp crew. Following Jack’s retirement, he moved to Rochester, Illinois.
Jack never met a stranger and his laugh was contagious. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed cheering for San Francisco Giants baseball and the Washington Redskins football. In his free time, Jack also enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.
Jack will be remembered by his daughter, Tori Rhinehart; one grandchild, Austin Lee; many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Terry Rhinehart.
In keeping with Jack’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
