Gregory E. Beuligmann

Gregory E. Beuligmann, 66, of West Salem, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on March 17, 1955, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the fourth of seven children born to Bernard and Mary Lou (Coleman) Beuligmann.  He married Tracy Smith on January 7, 2006, and she survives.

Greg was a member of the Mount Carmel High School Graduating Class of 1973.  He obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and worked in law enforcement, having served on the Mount Carmel, West Salem, and Grayville Police Departments before joining the Edwards County Sheriff Department where he remained until his retirement.  Greg loved being outdoors which led him to take a job, after his retirement, with Krajac Landscaping.  His favorite of all outdoor activities was playing golf with his friends.  Greg also enjoyed hunting and gardening in his spare time.  He and Tracy regularly attended Mt. Gilead Church in Olney, Illinois.  Greg was a very kind man who dearly loved his family.  Being “Pa” to his grandchildren meant the world to him and he would do anything to please them.  Greg was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Greg leaves behind his loving wife of fifteen years, Tracy; two children, Patrick (Jennifer) Beuligmann of Converse, TX, Jodi (Brian) McMahel of West Salem, IL; three grandchildren, Zylar Paul McMahel, Zaylee Irene McMahel, Lyleigh Dawn Beuligmann;        siblings, Maria (Rod) Paille, Michael (Judy) Beuligmann, Martha (Bob) Alka, Margaret (Joe) Dougherty, Jean Lockhart;  mother-in-law, Eva Smith; many loved nieces and nephews. 

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Beuligmann; father-in-law, Lester Paul Smith.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the House of Prayer, 230 North 5th St., in Albion, Illinois, with Pastor Tim Loomis officiating.   Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at House of Prayer in Albion.

In accordance with the recommendation of the CDC and the IDPH, masks will be required. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s memory to Pinehaven Christian School in Albion, Illinois.  Envelopes will be at the church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry St., Mt. Carmel, IL  62863.
