Ralph E. Whitehouse Sr., 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 9, 1951, in Wabash County, Illinois the son of Lawrence and Eva (Beck) Whitehouse. He married Kathy Slaydon and she survives.
Ralph enjoyed working on things and was very handy. He loved people, always helping anyone in need. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and some of his favorite pass time was spent hunting and fishing with his son, Jr., grandson, Aaron Foshee and his nephews, Jimmy, Hunter, and Timothy Ingram. Ralph loved spending time with his family, and they cherished his love and guidance. He was a great-hearted man, and his memories will live on forever.
Ralph leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-one years, Kathy; one son, Ralph Whitehouse Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Mount Carmel; daughters, Teresa Berberich and husband, Mike of Bellmont, IL; Tammie Whitehouse of Mount Carmel, Kay Phillips and husband Michial of Grayville, IL; eight grandchildren, Alicia Wilson, Ashley Hammond, Aaron Foshee, Lauren and Laney Smith, Christopher Price, Kaleigh and Aydon Phillips; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Joe McConnel; sisters, Eula May Ingram, Linda Fenwick, Sandy Stoneberger, Mindy Wampler; special niece, Janie Parkhurst along with several more loved nieces and nephews; very special friends and extended family, Roger and Vickie White, Laverne and Brenda Wall, Randy Wall, Bob and Linda Perry, Judy Flemings and Phil Slaydon.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Robert Lee, Bucky and Norman Ray; one sister, Pammy K; nephews, Dusty and Johnny.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Prairie Cemetery.
Due to some family members health concerns, all guests at the Visitation and Funeral will be required to wear a mask.
Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ralph’s memory to the Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies and will be accepted at the Funeral Home or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 N Cherry St. Mt. Carmel, IL 62863.
