Randall L. “Weed” Garwood, 61, of Grayville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 10, 1959 in Geneseo, Illinois, the son of Sherman and Rita (Pearson) Garwood. Randy graduated from Crossville High School Class of 1977.
Randy was a loving father to his daughter, Erin and treasured the bond with his grandson. He loved being outdoors, where he spent time hunting and fishing. At an early age, Randy lovingly earned the nickname “Weed” which stuck with him throughout his life. He was very involved in the Grayville Moose and loved participating in their many activities. Randy was a hard worker where he spent his lifetime as a logger. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Randy will be remembered by his daughter, Erin (Chris) Kieffer of Mount Carmel; grandson, Aiden Garwood; brothers, Steve (Rayna) Garwood of Mount Carmel, and Darrell Garwood of Crossville, IL; girlfriend, Shawna Irvine; two nieces, Jamie Compton and Katelin Neely; bonus children, Shad Collins, Shawn (Cindy) Collins, and Shanan (Jamin) Oldendorf; bonus grandchildren, Haley Collins, Noah Collins, Ethan Collins and Taylor Oldendorf. Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with Randy’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal services will be held.
