Bonita S. (Powers) Lambert, 82

Bonita S. (Powers) Lambert, 82, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh Indiana. She was born on March 20, 1938 in Owensville, Indiana, the daughter of Floyd “Pete” and Katherine (Hoadley) Newton. Bonnie married Tom Lambert on October 8, 1956 and together they enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage.

Bonnie was a loving, devoted homemaker and raising her family was her priority. She enjoyed following Kentucky Wildcats basketball and going out to play bingo. In her younger years, she loved playing the piano and would take every opportunity to play wherever a piano was available. Bonnie was a member of the Heartland Worship Center. Her family was precious to her and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Bonnie will be remembered by her son, David Lambert; daughters, Kathy Cowling, Sharon Henson, Lisa (Bucky) Choate, Lori (Dave) Wuorenma; grandchildren, Adam Lambert who Bonnie raised, Mellisa White, Kassandra Redden, Justin Cleveland, Dara Ross, Shanna Henson, Charlena Fricklin, Jonathan Hall, Brady Choate, Walker Choate, Derek Erdman, Samantha Seale; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Newton; sister, Carolyn Porter; sisters-in-law, Karen Boyd, Judy Lambert, Lynn Hinderliter.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Tom Lambert, Eugene Powers; grandchildren, Greg Henson, Laura Jane Hall, Connie Kingsbury; great-grandchild, Alexander Lambert Stephens; sisters, Betty Lou Newton, Pat White; brother, Floyd Newton Jr.; sons-in-law, Don Cowling Jr., Gary Henson, Mike Harms.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Heartland Worship Center. Social distancing practices will be in place.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Heartland Worship Center with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
