Scott Hood, 46, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana. He was born on December 13, 1973 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, the son of Carroll and Barbara (Elder) Hood. He married Christina Hershey on November 29, 1997 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Mount Carmel, Illinois and she survives.
Scott was employed as an Electrical Supervisor at IPL in Petersburg, Indiana. He attended Fairbanks University in Fairbanks, Alaska. During his time in Alaska, while working for U.A.F. Powerplant, he achieved Master Electrician. Scott was a dedicated employee and was very proud of his work. He grew up in Mount Carmel where he attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School and was a 1992 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. In his spare time, Scott was a video gamer and also enjoyed a good game of cards with his family and friends. He liked to cook and enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. Scott’s family was very important to him and he cherished spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Scott leaves behind his loving wife of twenty-two years, Chrissie; parents, Carroll and Barb Hood; brothers, Michael (Melissa) Hood, Christopher (Stephanie) Hood; sister, Alicia (John Giese) Ratcliff; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Scott was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffery Hood; two sisters, Stacy and Angela Hood.
Due to the COVID-19 mandated restrictions, we are unable to provide the type of service Scott deserves. His family will have a private service in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
