Beth Anne Beckerman, 56, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 14, 1963 in Charleston, Illinois, the daughter of Jerry and Phoebe (Brunn) Heath. Beth’s birth father passed away soon after she was born and when her mother re-married, Beth was lovingly accepted and adopted by her new father, Larry Gill. She married Terry Beckerman on February 27, 1982 and together they enjoyed thirty-eight years of marriage centered around their faith and family.
Beth was a 1981 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was a member of the early MCHS Lady Aces Conference Teams playing volleyball, basketball and softball. She went on to play volleyball for the Wabash Valley Junior College Lady Warriors. After graduating from WVC, Beth went on to attain a Bachelors Degree at the University of Evansville. She has been an avid sports fan her entire life with the St. Louis Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats being her favorites to follow. Beth’s primary focus was raising her family in a Godly home. She also worked alongside her husband at their family-owned and operated business, Hadley’s Café, for some time. She had a long-time love for restoring antique wood furniture. She loved the process of taking well-worn treasures and restoring them, giving them new life. It gave her great pleasure knowing that the pieces would be used and loved by families for generations to come. That love for restoration evolved into the 2001 opening of Maple Hill Restorations where she worked alongside her son, Trey. Beth played the bass guitar for over fifteen years at Community Church of God. She liked eating Jack’s Pizza with her family and enjoying a cup of Handsome Rooster coffee. She enjoyed gardening and taking long prayer walks in nature. Beth had deep faith in God. She dearly enjoyed Scripture study and being in the Word. Beth experienced years of daily intimate prayer and time spent with the Lord. She loved her Hickory Grove Great Banquet family and the opportunity to minister and serve others. Beth was a member of the Community Church of God where she led Bible Study and enjoyed mentoring younger women. Beth’s greatest joy came from her family. She loved them all dearly and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many great friends she had made throughout her life.
Beth leaves behind her husband, Terry; children, Brittany Campagna and husband, Eric, Trey Beckerman and wife, Kelsey, Cara Leach and husband, Jonathan; precious grandchildren, Carter, Cohen and Ila Campagna, Phoebe and Olivia Leach and another grandson on the way; father, Larry Gill; sister, Gina Jo (David) Iglehart; brother, Michael R.
