Kathryn F. Banks, 82, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 21, 1937 in Creal Springs, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene and Florence (Graves) Wall. Kathryn married Richard E. Banks and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2012. Before his passing, Kathryn and Richard loved traveling.
Kathryn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She was a former member of the Lighthouse Church in Patton, IL. Kathryn loved music and playing the guitar at church. She also enjoyed writing music. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Kathryn will be remembered by her four daughters, Shirley Melhiser of Petersburg, IN, Sandra (Fred) Weaver of Plainfield, IN, Karen Blake of Mount Carmel, and Vonda (Joseph) Friedt of Patoka, IN; five grandchildren, Matthew Haase, Will Weaver, Sami Weaver, Justin Melhiser, and Andrea Miley; six great grandchildren; brother, Lavern (Brenda) Wall of Friendsville; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Israel Burton; brothers, George, Cletes and Otis Wall.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Wall officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at Friendsville Cemetery with Brother Bill Reed officiating.
