Rebecca Michelle “Becka” Anthis, 33, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the home of her aunt, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on March 14, 1987 in Mount Carmel, the daughter of Greg and Michelle (Keepes) Anthis. She was engaged to be married to Nathan Pickering.
Becka was a very caring person. She loved taking care of people who were less fortunate. She deeply cared for the residents at River Oaks where she had been employed in the past. Becka worked for a while at Twin Rivers Restaurant before her current position at McDonalds. She always had a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Becka was a member of Gospel Kingdom Church. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Becka leaves behind her parents; fiancé, Nathan Pickering; brother, Bud (Mylian) Anthis; aunts and uncles, Kay and Eric Meier, David and Cindy Anthis, Lloyd and Sheila Payne, Theresa Jones, Carla Howell; and many loved cousins and friends.
Becka was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bud and Roberta Anthis, Carl and Sue Keepes; and uncles, Frank Keepes and Curt Howell.
Services for Becka are private due to current gathering limitations. She will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery.
