Bonnie L. Bailey, 63, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 13, 1956 in Sterling, Colorado, the daughter of Della Mae McClane and raised by her grandparents, Clem and Edith McClane. She married William “Bill” Bailey on July 6, 1974 and he survives.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved working with kids and was a Cub Scout leader for twenty years. She was a wonderful homemaker and greatly enjoyed creating beautiful crafts of all kinds. Bonnie was good at crocheting, knitting and sewing. She also made many lovely wedding cakes. Bonnie loved her family dearly. Spending time with them brought her great joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Bonnie leaves behind her loving husband of forty-five years, Bill; son, Andy (Debbie) Bailey; grandchildren, Shannon (Matt) Moore, Lindsey (Cory) Fisher, Dylan Rymer; great-grandchildren, Jaden Rymer, Brittany Moore, Stephen Moore, Scarlett Fisher; and brother, William (Kris) McClane.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
Family and their closest friends will gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. In order to limit possible exposure to illness, the family will welcome cards mailed to them in care of Keepes Funeral home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863, from others wishing to express their condolences.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Colgan officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Corner Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
