Barbara Pingleton, 84, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Wabash General Hospital. She was born on February 19, 1936, the daughter of Forrest and Eleanor (Sullivan) Litherland. She was married to James L. Pingleton who preceded her in death.
Barbara was a devoted homemaker. At different times in her life she had lived in Crossville, Illinois, then Mount Carmel, Illinois, which she chose as her final home. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Carmel. While living in Crossville, she was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Her love for children was enhanced by her experiences as a Sunday School teacher. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Through all of the challenges in her life, Barbara always had a positive attitude and praised the Lord. The staff and residents at Oakview Nursing Home where Barbara resided felt blessed by her presence. Barbara will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
Barbara leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer Inglis and husband, Brent; grandchildren, Tabitha Spencer, Amber Gore and husband, Tim; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Frederick, Jackson Gore; special friend of twenty-five years, Ray Stewart.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Private Graveside Services will be held and Barbara will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Stokes Cemetery in Crossville, Illinois.
