Martha L. “Motsy” Renck, 92, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. She was born on August 14, 1928 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of William L. and Ruth E. (Brouillette) Trimble. Motsy married Gary Renck on June 27, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and together they enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage until his passing on April 5, 2019.
Motsy was a member of the Allendale High School Class of 1946. During her working years, she was employed in the offices of Mt. Carmel Public Utility for a time and then was hired as Deputy Clerk in the Wabash County Circuit Clerk’s office. Motsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Her most favorite thing to do was spending the day shopping and could never pass up a good shoe store. She also enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Motsy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Daughter’s of Isabella for many years. She was loved and admired by many and will be dearly missed.
Motsy leaves behind two sons, Kelly (Tracy Schafer) Renck of Mount Carmel and Kevin Renck of Centralia, IL; two daughters, Michelle Motta and husband Mike of Evansville, IN and Melissa Mosby of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Alicia (Jim) Reeves, Kristen Kays (Rodney), Monica (Adam) Courter, Nolan (Katie) Renck, Mikayla Renck, Casey Mosby (Brad), Cydney (Eddie) Mosby, Paxton Mosby and Carley Mosby; great-grandchildren, Chase, Brady, Lyla, Makenzie, Rylee, Noah, Stella and Avalene; brother, Bradley (Vicki) Trimble; sisters, Ruth Towens, Wilma “Billie” Spray; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Motsy was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Armando Gutierrez, siblings, Bob Trimble, Carolyn Dougherty and Sister Mary Joyce Trimble.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Funeral Services will be private. Motsy will be laid to rest beside her husband, Gary Renck, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Motsy’s memory to the Murray Parents Association and will be accepted at Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. The Murray Center is where Motsy’s son, Kevin has lived for fifty years and has received excellent care.
