George E. Havill, Jr., 64, of St. Francisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by the love of his family and his faithful dog, Kirby.
He was born on September 10, 1954 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of George and Evelyn (Tussey) Havill, Sr. George married Barbara Hillyard on April 5, 1995.
George faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a people person and never knew a stranger. From a young age, George loved working on cars. He also enjoyed taking camping trips and spending time with his family. He was an avid NASCAR fan. George was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Francisville. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Havill of St. Francisville; three sons, Eric (Nancy) Havill of Raleigh, NC, Jayson Havill of Hammond, IN and Tim Wirth of St. Francisville; two daughters, Robin (Tom) McKain of Sullivan, IN and Mindy (Jeff) Jones of Ashburn, VA; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Roger (Debbie) Havill of Allendale, IL; sister, Sheree Mullis of St. Francisville; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Wirth; two brothers, Mike and John Havill.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Polk officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville.
