Ralph Lynn York, 95


Ralph Lynn York, 95, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on March 23, 1923 in Crawford County, IL, the son of Henry and Effie (Mathena) York.  Ralph married Jessie Evelyn Wirth on August 18, 1947 and they enjoyed seventy years of marriage.

Ralph will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was very proud of his family and his greatest treasure was in the time he spent with those he loved.  His grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  Ralph had a passion for woodworking and was very proud of the gifts he made for family and friends.  He also loved being outdoors and loved to work in his garden.  Ralph and Evelyn enjoyed travelling to many new places all over the United States.  Ralph was a very hard worker and spent thirty-eight years at Ashland before retiring.  He attended the Free Methodist Church in Mount Carmel.

Ralph will be remembered by his loving wife, Evelyn York of Mount Carmel, IL; two daughters, Brenda (Fred) Smith and Sandra (Gary) McIntire; grandchildren, Leanna (David) Bonczkowski, Aaron (Amada) Smith, Stacy (Joel) Hefner, Sara (Fiancée Josh Galloway) McIntire, Suzanne (Clayton) Meeks and Sabrina (David) Williams; great grandchildren, Amanda and Kayla Bonczkowski, Sophia Smith, Elizabeth, John and Anna Hefner, Norah and Eston Meeks, Ella and Henry Williams;

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard York, Glenn York and infant brother Ansel York; sisters, Hazel Nepote, Joy Spond, Edna Weir, Betty Groff and infant sister, Mary York; and half-sister Ester Burkett.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Deron Colgan officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel.

Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
