Carol Sue Lambert, 72, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, February, 24, 2018 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 24, 1945 in Gibson County, Indiana the daughter of Prosper and Jessie (Andrews) Searls. Carol married Clyde “Butch” Lambert on April 16, 1965 and together they enjoyed forty-three years of marriage before his passing on July 15, 2008.
Carol loved her family especially her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. She was a devoted Army wife and enjoyed travelling the country. Among Carol’s hobbies, she loved sewing and making crafts for family and friends. She also was a good cook and enjoyed cooking big family dinners.
Carol will be remembered by her two sons, Christopher (Karen) Lambert of Moberly, Missouri and Timothy Lambert of California; daughter, Melinda (Ernest) Majors of Mount Carmel; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several cousins.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Lambert; son, Wayne Lambert; one grandson; and brother Dale Searls.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel, IL.
