Betty M. Richardson, 89, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 28, 1929 in Wabash County, Illinois the daughter of Merle and Marie (Tisdale) Allen. She married Gerald “Cotton” Richardson and he preceded her in death.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed.
Betty will be remembered by her children, Nancy (Robert) Gossman of Evansville, Indiana, Jerry (Elaine) Richardson of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Kim (Shelley) Richardson of Mount Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Yang, Brent (Ashley) Richardson, Lindsey (Joe) Dee, Ashley (Zach) Kanipe, Brittney (Jason) Ishmael, Holly Gossman; great-grandchildren, Tye, Quaid, Hatcher and Annie Kanipe, Gibson, Zoë, Sawyer and River Richardson, Ethan and Kai Yang, Emma, Ruby and Violet Dee, Sophie, Mac, Cooper and Jackson Ishmael; brothers, Donald Allen and Glenn Allen and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cotton Richardson; brothers, William and Richard Allen; sisters, Wilma Smith, Joyce Doan and Joann Allen.
A private Graveside Service was held on Friday, November 9, 2018 with Pastor Jason Ishmael officiating in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
The Richardson family would like to extend a special thank you to Sheila Randall, Sandy Allen, Ashley Brown, Whitney Baker, Lori O’Daniel, and Linda Perkins for the loving care they extended to Betty in her time of need.
