Drug Dealer Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison

Kelli Storckman, Wabash County State’s Attorney, reports that on September 23, 2024, Thomas D. Gidcumb, a 58-year-old Mt. Carmel, Illinois man, was sentenced to 12 years in the Department of Corrections, to be followed by 12 months of mandatory supervised release by the Honorable Circuit Judge William C. Hudson in Wabash County Circuit Court.


State’s Attorney Storckman advises that the Defendant was charged on December 23, 2021, following a Mt. Carmel Police Department investigation into the unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.  During that investigation, Defendant was found to have sold methamphetamine on several occasions to a confidential source, and following the execution of a search warrant on the home of the Defendant, law enforcement recovered $32,000.00 in cash and over 15 grams of methamphetamine.  The defendant was sentenced to the Department of Corrections on a charge of Use of Property, a Class 2 Felony, and was assessed a $20,000.00 fine.
