Sex Offender On Facebook Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison

Kelli Storckman, Wabash County State’s Attorney, reports that on May 23, 2023, Randall Cleveland, a 44-year-old Mt. Carmel, Illinois man, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Circuit Judge William C. Hudson in Wabash County Circuit Court for a term of four years to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release.

State’s Attorney Storckman advises that the Defendant was charged on January 24, 2023, with Unlawful Failure to Register his use of Facebook as a Sex Offender, a Class 2 Felony, after an investigation by the Mt. Carmel Police Department.  That investigation revealed that Randall Cleveland was a sex offender required to register as a result of a conviction in the State of Florida for Soliciting a Minor by Computer, that he relocated to Mt. Carmel, IL in December of 2022, and upon registering as a sex offender he failed to list social media accounts he utilized.

State’s attorney Kelli Storckman said, “The Wabash County State's Attorney's Office remains committed to holding sex offenders accountable and keeping our children safe”.
