City Pool Ready To Open For 2023 Season On Sunday

Ahead of this weekend’s scheduled opening of the Mt. Carmel City Pool, the city council has voted to increase entrance fees by 50 cents. It will now cost $3 to get into the pool this summer. The cost of pool rentals has been raised by $25 to $200. Officials explained the increases were necessary because of a jump in Illinois’ minimum wage as well as utility costs being more this year. Mayor Joe Judge said business sponsorships of the pool last year helped the city remain financially stable at the pool. You can call city hall to reserve dates for pool rentals.

The pool will be open from 1-5pm on Sunday to open the season.

A free swim will be held on Memorial Day from 12:30pm-5pm.
