On 5/01/23, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Shawn S. Sutton, age 43, of Mt. Carmel, for Assault following an incident at a residence in the 100 block of Cedar Street. Police were called to the scene when a family dispute over property led to Sutton threatening physical harm to one of the family members. Sutton was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and later released on a Notice to Appear.
