Wabash County Sheriff Derek Morgan reports that deputy Chase Cheadle will head to Cookeville, Tennessee to begin training the new K-9 for four weeks. According to Morgan, Crimestoppers has agreed to cover the $8,500 cost of the new dog.
Another deputy, D. Ray Etzkorn is headed to rapid deployment training on the 19th of this month. He said once Etzkorn completes the four day training, he’ll be able to train other officers.

Deputy Cheadle starts K9 Training
Today marks the first day of K9 Training for Deputy Cheadle. Cheadle will be in training for the next 4 weeks in Cookeville Tennessee. Today he meets his nee partner. Follow our app or Facebook page to meet our newest Deputy.
Deputy Cheadle will be training alongside former Wabash County Deputy Bogard. Bogard who is now a K9 handler with the Cookeville Police Department is starting the same course. [HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!]
