Two Vehicle Crash On I-64 Injures Missouri Woman

ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19

WHAT:                      Two Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries.

WHERE:                   Interstate 64 at milepost 99, Wayne County

WHEN:                      Jan. 10, 2022 at approximately 10:47 a.m.

VEHICLES:              Unit 1 – White 2007 Dodge Ram pulling a Dump Trailer

                                    Unit 2 – Gold 2013 GMC Terrain

DRIVERS:                 Unit 1 – David L. Hall, 61-year-old male from Grayville, IL – No injuries.

                                    Unit 2 – Cierra C. Wood, 22-year-old female from Cape Fair, MO – Transported to an area hospital with injuries.

PASSENGERS:         Unit 1 – Janet F. Hall, 66-year-old female from Grayville, IL – No injuries.

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Interstate 64 at milepost 99 in the passing lane. Unit 1 had slowed down and attempted a left turn onto the paved cross-over that had a posted "Authorized Vehicles Only" regulatory sign. Unit 2 was behind Unit 1 and failed to reduce speed causing Unit 2 to strike the back of the Unit 1 trailer.

 

CHARGES:               The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device and the driver of Unit 2 was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

 

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
