The long-awaited parking lot project at Dr. S. B. Jani’s office on Oak Street has gotten final approval by the Wabash General Hospital board of directors. At Monday’s board meeting, the low bid of Kieffer Brothers Construction was accepted for $184,500 with the work to be done in 60 days or less. The project will add 16 additional spaces at the medical office allowing staff to park at the office. Presently, staff have been forced to park at nearby Oakview Heights and walk over because the scarce available parking was reserved for patients. The project has been delayed at various because of concerns expressed by nearby residents. But, after those concerns were alleviated, the city zoning board approved the plans which in turn were also okayed by the city council.
