ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT
WHAT: Three Unit Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE: Interstate 64 eastbound at Milepost 123.5, White County
WHEN: Feb. 9, 2021 at approximately 2:15 a.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1- 2019 White Freightliner Truck Tractor Trailer Combination
Unit 2- 2003 Red Freightliner Truck Tractor Trailer Combination
Unit 3- 2014 Whitle Kenworth Truck Tractor Trailer Combination
DRIVER: Unit 1- Liu Weiqi, 28-year-old male of Los Angeles, CA (Transported to a local area hospital with injuries)
Unit 2- Osvaldo Aamarales-Bayola, 45-year-old male of Louisville, KY
Unit 3- Adam Durrence, 45-year-old male of Metter, GA (Transported to a local area hospital with injuries)
PASSENGER: Unit 1- Bin Jiang, 42-year-old male of Monterey Park, CA
PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Units 1,2,3 were traveling eastbound on Interstate 64 near mile post 123.5. Unit 1’s semi-trailer began to fish-tail and jack knifed. Unit 1 overturned, blocking both eastbound lanes. Unit 2 struck unit 1’s semi-trailer. Unit 3 was unable to stop due to the road conditions and traveled off the roadway to the north into the median. Unit 3 struck Unit 1 before coming to final rest in the median.
CHARGES: Unit 1 Driver was issued a citation for Driving too Fast for Conditions.
