Fort Branch man arrested on DUI charge

On February 21, 2021, at 1:02 a.m. Fort Branch Officer Jeff Beck conducted a traffic stop on a Red Toyota Tacoma after observing it facing Northbound in the Southbound lane of US 41 at State Road 168. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Loren Barchett detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver 45-year-old Jason Bolton of Fort Branch. At that point Deputy Barchett began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Barchett placed Mr. Bolton into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Bolton was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Barchett in his investigation was Deputy U.B. Smith, Deputy Quentin Might, and Fort Branch Officer Jeff Beck.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
