On 12/1/21, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Lona M. Mckee, age 32, currently of St. Petersburg, Florida, for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Victim <13 and Permitting Sexual Abuse of a Child.
The investigation began when MCPD received a sexual assault report from an outside jurisdiction alleging abuse to two children while visiting their aunt Lona Mckee during her time residing in Mt. Carmel from November 2020 to November 2021.
During the investigation, evidence was uncovered that indicated Mckee participated in the sexual abuse resulting in McKee’s arrest while at the Mt. Carmel Police Department. Mckee was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.
