City Cracking Down On Delinquent Golf Cart/UTV Stickers

The Mt. Carmel City Council has put golf cart and UTV owners on notice, make sure your registration to operate on city streets is current. Dozens of golf cart and UTV owners are operating on expired stickers and the city council is looking to bring those delinquent stickers up to date. When the ordinance to allow for their operation went into effect, the stickers were good for one year from the time they were purchased. The problem, according to City Commissioner Eric Ikemire is people forget when their stickers were due for renewal…

Now those who have not gotten a 2021 sticker will have to get that sticker before a 2022 sticker is issued. And now, all stickers will expire on January 1st. The council did allow for a two-week grace period giving operators until January 14th to make sure they’ve gotten this year’s and next year’s stickers. Police Chief Mike McWilliams said the stickers are available anytime, 24-7 at the police department. Proof of insurance will also need to be presented before stickers are issued.
