Lawrenceville man arrested on possession of paraphernalia charge

On June 21, 2020, at 4:01 p.m. Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputy U.B. Smith attempted to stop a Purple 2004 Chrysler Concord for failing to signal their intent turn. Upon attempting to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 1025 South Deputy Smith observed an object being thrown out the passenger side vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle Deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop identifying the driver as 45 year old Andre Bell of Lawrenceville, Illinois. During a roadside investigation Deputy Smith recovered the discarded item, a glass pipe with a burnt residue inside it. Deputy continued his investigation where he placed Mr. Bell into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Bell was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and has since posted a $900 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputies Bryce Jutzi and Zach Lienemann.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
